Lifelong Learner Campaign

It has been a long road to get here, but here we are.

The last three weeks of participating in this campaign has given me a greater appreciation for those who manage an online presence for a living because it takes a lot of time and effort.

I would like to say that my campaign to promote Lifelong Learners has been a success. I was able to utilize various online social media sites to spread my campaign and tried to educate others as to the importance of being a lifelong learner.
  • Instagram - 24 posts with 509 engagements
  • Facebook - 37 posts with 341 engagements
  • Twitter - 45 tweets with 43 engagements

Case Analysis

What posts worked best?

  • My Instagram posts got the most hits (509 engagements) and I’m thinking that is because most of my students and friends are checking their IG accounts more frequently than their Facebook accounts.

What trends did you find?

  • I found that the more posts I made of my students and things that went on in school or around the world, the more engagement I had received.

What received the most engagement?

  • I received the most responses from posts that were trending like United Airlines or Political humor. The Infographics that I would make and post on Instagram received 57% of the hits during the campaign.

What was shared the most?

  • I really didn’t get too many things shared. I just had a bunch of friends, family and colleagues like or comment on things that they found interesting. Twitter (43 engagements) wasn’t working for me all that much.

What images generated the most interest? Why?

  • Images of students at work or projects made by students got a lot of attention on Instagram more so than the same images posted on Facebook (341 engagements). I believe these infographics were popular because the pictures I used were recent and brought back fond memories from former students. Family and friends liked them because they were in good taste and informative or humorous.

What else did you discover?

  • I also discovered that I was having waaayyyy too much fun making infographics. I was able to look at my Blogger statistics and was surprised to see that I was getting hits from all over the world at least once.
