How Do I use FB?

I use Facebook religiously.
I have it on each and every device
because I'm addicted to it.

What do you usually do on Facebook?

I first started out connecting with friends and family members who I hadn't seen in a while.
Then...I got into FB games and that was a waste of a year which was just another gateway drug for other mobile game apps that litters my devices now and every time a chime goes off, I've been trained to check and see which game needs my attention....all because of FB.

How much time do you usually spend on it in a typical day?

I've been weening myself off the addiction, but I still go on FB at lease 3 times a day, see what's happening with friends and family and move along on my merry way. I may comment on a friends post that interests me or ask a question in one of the  groups I'm in. I would say maybe 15-20 minutes a day at most.

Do you ever worry about your privacy or take steps to protect it? Why?

At first, I worried a lot about my privacy and who would see my profile, so I made my FB page private to only friends. I also try to think before I post because what goes up onto the internet may not be able to come down. I do check for any activities that may seem suspicious as if my account were hacked or if anyone tries to hack a friend's account.

How do you know if something is true on Facebook?

How do I know if something is true? Funny you should ask because my 12 CRAPP articles came from FB and it was interesting and grueling at the same time. I used the same CRAPP methods of checking the source, who are  the authors, as well as a Fake News site  that rates the biases of a web site that is providing the information

What do you think about the findings about how specific activities on Facebook, like posting and viewing photos, correlate with things like grades and engagement in student activities?

I think that at first, students were spending way too much time on social media sites and using them as a hangout, a place to gossip, and a platform to express themselves...with cat videos. As a result, school work was being neglected and grades plummeting.

Do these findings apply to you? Why or why not?

No, I do not think FB has effaced my grades. I blame all of the mobile games on my cell phone and iPad that sucks my time into a black hole to never return.

Facebook Groups
I have made two FB groups: Aki Family and KS Graduates in Architecture and Engineering.
The Aki Family page is for all of my family and my parents family and grandparents family....it's huge and it connects all of us together from all around the country. The other page I made to keep in contact with my former students to see what they are learning in college and to make sure that I'm preparing my high school students for their college major.
