"How community is related to your life purpose."
"Learning Comfortably"
by Mike M
The first image shows two girls testing out an FRC robot. Having more and more girls in the field of robotics is something that is growing every year and our Technology learning community has been pushing for more and more female students to play an increasingly active role in Robotics, Engineering and Architecture.
The second image shows two students using a milling machines. This is a strong learning community image because today's society sees technology as the use of computers and gadgets. The image depicts the revival of how important the trades are within our community, but more importantly our society.
The last image was taken with m cell phone of two of my students lounging around the VEX field. Even though they know that they are supposed to be working, they also are comfortable enough to just kick back and "smell the roses". This image portrays the "feel" that we strive to accomplish within our community where we promote an environment where students are comfortable to work and share with one another to complete a common goal.
I almost forgot! #ics119

Hi Mike,
ReplyDeleteYou should have three pics when your done. Please look at the last assignment to take a picture with your phone.
Thanks,
Greg
Mahalo Greg...I'll get that photo in there shortly.
DeleteAlso can you make your web addresses hyperlinks? It's essential to hyperlink back to where you got the images from. Except for free to use. Those pics do not require attribution.
ReplyDeletethanks,
Greg
Looks good! Thanks Mike.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture choices for your passion. I hope my boys both stay interested in robotics. They did their first Lego League Robotics tournament last fall. Is Robotics an elective or an after school activity at your school?
ReplyDeleteAloha Mike,
ReplyDeleteI really do like that your life goal is more specific like on what field and with females in particular. I like that you are pushing and helping young girls in this field because its always cool to see females doing hard stuff too! Funny thing is I actually did Robotics in high school as an elective, our school won I think for state and internationally. However I felt really out of place, it was a learning experience, and something that wasn't for me but I did develop an appreciation for it!
